Earlier today, the National Universities Commission (NUC) team visited Pen Resource University, Gombe, for resource verification exercise for the commencement of new programmes in this academic session.
The NUC team was received by Vice-Chancellor, Prof Yusuph Yahaya, and his management team.
The NUC team also commended the Pro-Chancellor and founder, Dr. Sani Jauro (Danlawal of Gombe) for his strong vision, unwavering commitment to the provision of qualitative university education, and the infrastructural development and other hightech facilities in the university.
The following are the eight (8) new undergraduate academic programmes in the university that were resource verified for take-off in the 2023/2024 academic session.
1) B.Sc Biotechnology
2) B.Sc Microbiology
3) B.Sc Data Science
4) B.Sc Petroleum Chemistry
5) B.Sc Political Science
6) BMLS Medical Laboratory Science
7) B.N.Sc Nursing Science
8) B.Sc Public Health.
The team was satisfied with the facilities provided for the take-off of all the programmes. They also recommended to the university further measures to be taken to improve on the current facilities towards accreditation, which usually takes place 3 to 4 years after commencement of the programmes.
